1986. Cliff Burton Passes Away:

For those of you that dont know Cliff Burton is the legendary original bassist of Metallica. Cliff joined the band in 1982 and was the bassist on their first three studio albums "Kill Em All," "Ride The Lightning" and "Master Of Puppets." Cliff was an extremely hard worker and from the age of thirteen on practiced his bass for upwards of six hours a day, even after joining Metallica in no way did he loose his work ethic or passion. Cliff continued his rigorous regimen throughout his entire career with Metallica. Sadly on September 27 1986 in Sweden Metallica's tour bus crashed resulting in the death of Cliff Burton.

"Divine Intervention" is the sixth studio album to be released by American heavy metal band Slayer. Released through the record company American Recordings, it was the first album not to have Dave Lombardo but his replacement Paul Bostaph. This album caused a lot of tension between the record company and the band due to the explicitness of the album and the record company constantly demanding a hit radio single, to which Slayer refused to agree to. Divine Intervention sold 93 000 copies its first week and is regarded by Tom Araya as Slayers best album.
